SITTING ROOM

Aquarium

An aquarium is a water-filled tank, usually with glass sides, in which aquatic plants and animals, particularly fish, are kept. The term is applied to single tanks for home use in which fish are kept for their decorative effect and interesting habits and to public institutions with tanks for exhibition and scientific study of aquatic life. The aquarium is always the centre of attraction in the room; seeing species of exotic gold fish swim without a care in the world brings the serene, aquatic feeling right in to the home.
A good aquarium maintenance practise will lead to a healthy tank, providing years of joy for the hobby.

The biggest factor for maintenance is tank stability. As long as everything is running as it should be and your fishes are healthy, there is no need for any major change, only alteration in the major water parameters will need your careful but immediate attention.
The most talk about part of aquarium maintenance is the water change. A water change should be done about every two weeks. In most cases, 10 to 15% of the tank volume is sufficient. A good habit is to replace the water extracted while vacuuming the gravel. This will eliminate uneaten food and other residue in the substrate. It is highly recommended to check on your water parameters, both in the tank and the water you use to replace it with.
Most tap water (city water) contains either chlorine or chloramines. Chlorine will air out rather quickly, while chloramines will not. Both of these substances are toxic to aquatic life. Well water is usually chlorine free.
Filtered water should also be checked on a regular basis and should be considered part of your aquarium maintenance routine. Check for silicate and silicid acid, which penetrate the filter membrane after a short time.
The water may be kept free of algae for long periods by sufficient aeration and by keeping molluscs in the aquarium.

Window Blinds

This is the classic way of designing your room with texture – giving it depth, softness and elegance. They come in various slat sizes of 1” to 3” with painted, stained or sandblasted finishing.
The types can be:
Wooden: the grains create a contrast to the smoothness of the wall and other materials in the room.
Bamboo: this can create that tropical/oriental sensation.
Aluminium: this gives lightness and brightness to the room.

The window blinds should be placed outside the windows casings.

Colour scheme is very important when choosing your window blind because the cool colours (blue, green, grey) and the warm colours (red, yellow, orange, brown), the strong dramatic colours (red, brown, purple, black), and the less prominent colours (beige, pink) can contribute a great deal to the feeling created by a room while certain colours have the effect of enlarging a space (white and the cool, light colours); others, of diminishing it (black and the warm, dark colours).

Be clear on the style you are creating and make sure that you achieve that visual rhyme when implementing your design.

Quiet Loud Sinks

Fill the space between two stainless steel sink basins with expanding foam. The foam deadens vibrations and lessens the gong effect. It's possible to do this with the sink in place, but it's much neater and easier before installation. Either way, let the foam harden and then trim away the excess with a knife.
